Questions

I'm a big fan of this Questions section of Blot since it lets me try to find solutions to problems on my own before reaching out to the contact email or asking a new question. However, it's hard to keep track of questions and when they are answered. Right now, I make a task to follow up on the question's URL and then periodically try to run back down the list to see if anything's changed. Would you consider adding a 'notify me' feature that sends an email or something when a particular question gets a new answer? Ideally, I could "subscribe" to any question, even if I hadn't asked it, since there are topics others have brought up that I'm eager to learn more about. I guess I'm thinking of something like Discourse, which I've seen other places use, but maybe you don't want to go down that route.

In CodePen the HTML snippet draws the widget with correct information, but when I paste the code to my Markdown page nothing renders. I can see the code is written on the page via Developer Mode, but it's getting a 400. The widget is from Literal.club and it has the following code: <div id="literal-widget" handle="<MY_HANDLE>" status="IS_READING" layout="list"></div> <script src="https://literal.club/js/widget.js"></script> I've used Substack iframes and they work fine.

I'm new to all this and palying around a bit. I use Obsidian as MD editor and am publishing my first post. When I write my post I want to add an image to it. That image is in the same folder as the post. Now when Blot picks things up it shows both the image and the blog post on the homepage. Can I avoid that? What is your folder strategy when working with images??

Hi there, blot was able to automatically create a root folder for my blog but no other contents were added. I created a folder for Posts and upload a markdown file to test. Still, nothing is showing up in prod nor is the .md file getting recognized in blot's > sync view. Please advise, thanks! https://hcde.blot.im/

Is there a way to add HTML to my links at the top of the page?I want to add a rel=me anchor tag for Mastodon verificatione.g.<a rel="me" href="https://mastodon.social/@Uhnnohn">Mastodon</a> It's the rel="me" attribute I cannot figure out how to add to the link

If I want to create my own custom template, do I just need to create the Templates folder, the folder with the template source code, a package.json, and then the various template files themself? Will the blot.im hosted UI recognize that I added a new template locally?

Where can i download the invoices or the history of payments / receipts? Thank you very much

Forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere, but I couldn't find it when perusing existing questions. I'd like to set up some pages as homes for my various projects, many of which have their own tags for related blog posts. I know that you can create a new .html file with the syntax on https://blot.im/templates/developers/examples/all-posts-with-a-tag, but I was hoping to do it with a regular page made with a .md file. It'd be much easier to update the rest of the content that way. Is that possible?

At the bottom of the default template, on some pages there is a "Links to this post" block. How does one remove this?

I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to get the author parsed by read later services. For some reason, Pocket has pulled out "merch" as the author of my posts, and I don't know why. Any ideas? Example post.

It appears you can set the title of an image like so. I'm wondering if there could be an option to allow using the title instead of alt text for the image caption. Could be a nice convenience over putting in HTML for a caption. Or is there already a good way to set a separate caption that I'm missing?

Hey friends, I'm attempting to transfer my site from Dropbox to Google Drive — Each time I make it through the Google authentication and receive an email from Google confirming that the sign-in was successful, but instead of being redirected to Blot, I get a 'Too many HTTP redirects' error page. I have tried clearing my cache and have tried using multiple browsers. This appears to be an issue on the Blot end. Blot now thinks I am connected to Google Drive, but none of my files have been transferred across, and all file links on my website are broken. Any suggestions? :)

Is there an existing solution to adding a toggle switch or using device settings for light / dark mode? I'm using the Blog template. Thank you.

If I fork a template and I mess it up, can I easily switch back to the default template?

I see there is a {{#is}} used in the entries.html for the blog template. Is there a list of these "helper" functions somewhere?

I just signed up and I cannot get Dropbox or Google Drive to connect. It gives me an error on both as soon as I try to connect.

An image post was automatically generated when I dragged an image into my Google Drive. It never goes away even though the image file has been removed from Google Drive. I'm wondering how to fix this and prevent this from happening. Could we have a button to purge the cache or notify the CDN to delete our stuff immediately? It's kind of annoying and sometimes troublesome to fail to delete inappropriate content immediately. I've sent emails to customer service but think others might have come across the same issue, so I'm also posting it here. I sincerely hope that the site can truly reflect the file structures on our cloud storage in real time. If a file is already removed from our end, it should not stay on the site for hours or days. Better yet, we could be allowed to delete files directly from dashboard since Blot keeps a copy of data on its server. It's not really a good experience to be unable to delete unwanted data at the user's discretion. Also, I think it would be better if Blot could automatically post an image or file only when its name starts with an underscore. Most of the time users don’t just hope to post an image with a default caption “image” and a default title “image.” Automatic posting doesn’t make much pragmatic sense. It may even create problems when a file is unintentionally uploaded to the cloud drive, considering that it may stay live for an indefinite amount of time. What's more, I can't switch to DropBox. Upon authorization it says ":( Error"

Is there a baked in modal window I can access for video and audio presentation? Kinda like how images are presented.
