Adding tags to a post?
I've read all the documentation and I'm sure I'm being thick but I just can't get my posts tagged. I am just posting .md files via DropBox but how do I get the posts to have tags?
At the top of your file. You can put a few things up there. Below is example that adds 3 tags to the post. Put it before your post title at the very start of the file:
Tags: tag1, tag2, tag3
This section of the file is called metadata on Blot and there's more about it in the documentation.
You can also use folders to tag posts. For example, if you create a folder called:
[Apple]
The posts generated from files inside the folder are tagged 'Apple' automatically. You can combine the two techniques, nest multiple tag folders and even add tags in the file's name, e.g.
[Apple]/[Cultivars]/[Abbomdanza]Review.md
The post generated from the file above will be tagged 'Apple', 'Cultivars' and 'Abbomdanza'
Answered 3 days ago · Edit answerHi That's great thanks, the first option seems to the simplest for me so I'm going with that. Must admit I didn't know you could have subfolders containing posts below the "Posts" folder.
Update: I've now tried out the Name Of Folder option for tagging multiple posts and using nested folders for this within the Posts subfolder. It works really well, once I realised I actually had to type the square brackets!
