Three months without support
I'm sorry after three months without support and a broken site, I've decided to cancel the subscription and to try and look for an alternative. It's a pity because I like the unique simplicity of this publishing model—this is how the web should be for ordinary folks. Good luck.
Same. I'll miss this platform and how easy it was to work with, but I need(ed) help and complete radio silence isn't acceptable. I get that this site doesn't have a huge staff, but even an autoresponder explaining what's going on would be better. I can't rely on someone's part time hobby.
Answered 3 months ago · Edit answerPerhaps there is an option for a participatory shift? Self-hosting, open-source? Blot is quite unique not only on the turning a folder into a site side of things... I'll be up to contribute my time is somebody else is willing to!!
Answered 3 months ago · Edit answerSending positive vibes out to the Blot community on this! I lack the skills to help, but really hope those who can will get together with David's blessing and make this happen.
I really really want Blot to succeed! We love you, David! Help us (them) to help you.
Answered 3 months ago · Edit answerAny updates at all? Has anyone heard from David after that first return message?
Answered 2 months ago · Edit answerIt's pretty clear he is fixing things if you check under updates. Some in last few weeks.
Answered 2 months ago · Edit answerI have mailed David a few times lately and got no reply. He used to be pretty responsive, and my guess is that he either doesn't have the time or the will to blot, which is a pity because it is just what I needed. I have looked around for anything similar and nothing came even close. I have forked the project and thought I would have a look at it, but it is pretty complex and I lack the time as well...
Answered 2 months ago · Edit answerThere are options depending on how you use Blot. Nothing as easy especially if you are syncing via Dropbox/Google Drive. If you are okay with Git and using it here there are places to host a HUGO or Jekyl site that has some of the same type of functions. That said, while we wait for a few things to be fixed this service is still working and I hope we hear from David soon about the future.
Answered 2 months ago · Edit answerWe should ask David to open source his project in hopes that someone will maintain it.
Oh, DAVID!!!
Answered 2 months ago · Edit answerIt is in the Public Domain based on the About Page and the Github repo…
Answered a month ago · Edit answerI'm back, sorry for the delay. Please email me again if the issue is urgent but I'm working on getting through the support ticket backlog.
I just fixed a number of bugs with the template editor. I still need to resolve the issue with Google Drive. If there's something else affecting your site, please let me know either here or via email
