The first blog is on my root domain. The second is on a subdomain. The TTFB is drastically slower on the second (subdomain) blog. The code of both blogs is almost identical.
Is this a problem with my DNS provider, Cloudflare, or could my blogs be on different servers, one slower than the other?
I'm just trying to diagnose the problem.
I think you're likely running into the HTTP upgrade issue with Cloudflare. The solution is either to disable Cloudflare’s HTTPS upgrade or disable Blot’s setting to redirect HTTP traffic to HTTPS. The two conflict when both turned on.
Does that help? Your blogs are hosted from the same infrastructure and not treated differently at Blot's end.
Answered 2 years ago · Improve this answerThank you. Disabling HTTPS in Blot seemed to help, but switching the setting in Cloudflare took me the rest of the way. I switched from "Full (strict): Encrypts end-to-end, but requires a trusted CA or Cloudflare Origin CA certificate on the server" to "Full: Encrypts end-to-end, using a self signed certificate on the server".
