Analytics proxy?
Would it be possible for Blot to automate setting up a proxy for analytics script (as a safe-guard for add-blockers)?
Or better yet, maybe some in-house analytics are in the workings? I currently use Umami as a simple privacy-focused self-hosted and cloud analytics and I keep wondering why wouldn't they just license the script to the third-parties like Blot to run along smoothly with the web-server itself.
I like the idea of supporting the proxying of certain analytics files. I'll follow up here when this is ready
Minimal in-house analytics are under consideration. Note that Blot does not collect the IP addresses of your visitors so it would be more of a hit-counter than a replacement for Google Analytics.
Answered a year ago · Edit answerI just discovered Umami, and can't figure out where to paste the tracking script thing.
Answered 4 months ago · Edit answerok so I figured it the issue was I was trying to run umami via Umbrel, and didn't realize I also needed to run something like cloud flare. so I have umami running through their cloud now, but it seems like my rss feed is now broken.
Answered 3 months ago · Edit answeryou can also self-host Umami analytics with pikapods, I used them for my own with https://met.lev.lc/ and love how it worked out, it's just over a $1 / mo. In fact I only discovered just now that it's multi-user so technically Blot can host it's own Umami installation or several users can come along to share one.
