Does anyone know of any templates or tools to support two different languages on the Blot website?

It's something I've thought a little about but I don't know how best to solve. It's possible to build something using custom metadata and modifications to your template.

The most minimal solution might be to create a hidden page for a translation of a particular post and link to it at the top of the post, e.g.

hello-world-english.txt:

[Lee este post en español](/hola-mundo)

# Hello world

hello-world-espanol.txt

Link: /hola-mundo
Page: yes
Menu: no

# Hola Mundo

Out of interest, what does the ideal publishing interface (i.e. folder structure, etc.) look like for you?

Sorry to jump in but I have the same problem, as I want to publish posts in both Arabic and English.

here's the flow I imagine for such an implementation:

  1. the user goes into the site. based on their language preferences, the website shows them either the Arabic or English interface.
  2. A language switcher is present at the top of the page to allow users to switch between available languages.
  3. based on the chosen language, a template is set by the site owner to be the default of that language. Think ltr / rtl. It's the website owner's responsibility to make the templates as similar as possible in regards to look and feel, behavior, and translation. (I'm not very happy about this tbh so if anyone has ideas please jump in).
  4. A language metadata is present at the top of each post / page file, that enables blot to list posts / pages for each version of the website. That way, it's up to the site owner to determin the structure they see fit.

Now that I wrote this, I think it could be done manually by modifying templates, but I don't know about URLs. Idealy, the url of the post shouldn't change when viewing a post in any language, but I don't know if that's the right decision for SEO.

Once again, thank you for such an amazing platform, I can't imagine writing anywhere else.
