Permanently exporting a Blot site?

Say that I want to make a site once and for all, and then i want to keep it up without any serious updates. would there be a way to export the site and keep it that way?

Blot is by far my favourite way to build a site, but I don't want to pay monthly for more than one or two sites forever

For sure, you could use something like this to fetch a static copy of your site on Blot at a moment in time, then you could use a free service to host your site and close your Blot account. Note that the dynamic parts of Blot (e.g. your search engine) would not work on this copy of your site.

However, it's worth mentioning that the moment you stop paying someone money to host your site, you're paying with something else instead (typically the data/privacy of people who visit your site, or revenue from advertising). Hosting a website has a real-world cost because you need to pay for a server (i.e. a computer) with power and an internet connection in a room, somewhere, somehow.

Hi For me at least one of the very nicest thing about Blot is the lack of adverts and I'm thinking the cost of the site to me is around £1 a week, it's worth paying for the lack of ads alone. I'm reminded of the "extra" cost one has to pay to remove ads from Netflix, that just shows the value they place on shoving adverts under your nose. Q
