How to activate SSL certificate?
Hi everyone. New user here. I tried searching but couldn't find this.
My blog with custom domain does not have HTTPS.
How can I enable this?
Thanks !
I had the same question and researched a bit but note that I am by no means an expert on these issues.
On https://www.whynopadlock.com/ you can test your site. What I found for my site is that an SSL-certificate exists and is applied, depending on how the site is addressed by the visitors. That, at least, is what I concluded.
example.com will be secure https://www.example.com will be secure www.example.com will not be secure Any addressing starting with http:// will not be secure
I also understand that a redirect could be defined by having an .htaccess file in the website's main directory. However, the appropriate content for that file seems to depend on the type of server on which the sites are being run on blot.im. So here we would need input from the blot team.

Should I raise a support ticket to ask for a redirect from http? or is this question sufficient.
Thanks
Answered 9 days ago · Edit answerBlot generates an SSL certificate for you, even on custom domains. You don't need to do anything to activate this. However, by default we do not redirect HTTP to HTTPS because this breaks your website for ancient browsers (backwards compatibility is important to me).
I used to expose an option to redirect insecure requests (HTTP) to HTTPS on the dashboard which you can turn on at your discretion. Not sure why I hid this, but will add this to the redirects page on your site's dashboard and follow up here.
