Pages now showing up as Posts and in RSS feed?
I have a directory with in Pages with no tags set in the YAML for my newsletter. I've never had a newsletter show up in the RSS feed before, but today the latest one suddenly did.
Are Pages supposed to show up in the RSS feed, or was this a bug?
I can add a tag to prevent the behavior in the future, but wanted to know before adding something unnecessarily.
So what I hadn't realized when I posted the above is that the issue of the newsletter, that's stored in a subdirectory within Pages actually got posted to my blog as well (as if it were in Posts). This hasn't ever happened with previous issues, so I'm thinking this could be a bug. The fact it made it to the RSS is only because it was treated as a "post". Since it looks no different than previous issues stored in Pages with the following YAML, I don't even know what to change to correct it appearing on the blog main page and having ended up in the RSS.
My site: https://tangiblelife.net
Sample YAML:
---
title: ▲ of the Mind [014]
slug: totm-014
date: 2024-02-26
draft: no
menu: no
---

Interesting, thanks for the report, my best guess is that some combination of draft: no
and menu: no
triggered the bug which turned a page into a post.
Understood. I wonder if 'date' is a factor? I still think something changed, because the 'date' YAML was included in issue 013 and the post behavior didn't occur. Previous issues were migrated in from another location and none of those have a 'date' value in the YAML front matter. Here's more detail if it helps for troubleshooting:
Issue 13 YAML:
title: ▲ of the Mind [013]
slug: totm-013
date: 2024-02-09
draft: no
menu: no
---
Issue 12 YAML:
---
title: ▲ of the Mind [012]
slug: totm-012
draft: no
menu: no
---
Links to both issues appear here. Neither of these showed up in the RSS or as a post on Entries or Archive pages.
For now, I'll remove the date from the YAML of issue 14 to see if that removes it from the main blog page, until you determine the bug behavior and then I can gladly let you know if it happens again with Issue 15 in a couple weeks (hopefully not).
Let me know how I can assist further.
