Why isn't my site on Google?

I've just created my blog with Blot and when I search for my name, my URL or some content on my site, Google simply doesn't find anything. Can you help me in anyway?

Getting your site to appear in search results, known as Search engine optimization (SEO), will require a little bit of time and a little bit of work.

Blot does everything it can to improve the search result performance of sites hosted on it (it follows best practices for <meta> tags, load speed, security etc...) but ultimately the content of the site and the quality and number of links to the site from elsewhere are much more important.

The most effective thing you can do is get people to link to your website on Blot, and those links should be associated with your name. Adding the site as your link on social media profiles will help too.

Other things you could do:

  • ensure the title of your site contains your name
  • add a heading to your home page containing your name

Does that help? Please let me know if you have any questions about this or anything else.

Another tip that has worked great for me: make sure to check the Google Search Console (https://search.google.com/search-console) and use a URL Inspection to manually request your site/pages to be indexed by Google.

Do you happen to know if I should request a URL Inspection for each page and blog post?

To refer to the previous answer: even if we search with "" the exact terms from the page/post Google still doesn't return nothing.

It shouldn't be necessary to manually request a URL inspection for each page. If other websites link to your site, your site will appear in Google's search results
